Harpacticoid copepods

Most harpacticoid copepods live in- or on the bottom which is why they have much smaller antennules than other copepod orders. They also lack the clear separation between prosome (head part) and urosome (tail part) that Calanoid and Cyclopoid copepods have. Some species can be found living in the plankton.
